University Governance


The main governing bodies of the University are the Steering Committee and the Senate. Steering Committee is the principal governing authority of the university, which has overall strategic responsibility for the effective institutional functioning of the University. The Steering Council is responsible for all decisions related to financial matters (budget, personnel, infrastructure) in order to provide adequate conditions for the University's sustainable activity in accordance with its obligations.
 
The Senate is the highest academic body of the university and is the highest academic body of the University, which is in charge of overall strategic issues related to research, scholarship, teaching, criteria for admission to the selection and promotion of academic staff, curriculum content, providing quality and evaluation etc. in accordance with its duties and obligations.
 
The Rector is the main managing and academic authority of the University. The Rector responds to the University Council for the effective, productive and economic work of the University within its obligations. In this context, the Rector has all the powers to carry out his duties, since they were not given to the authorities or other leaders by the Statute. The Rector is assisted by the Vice Presidents and the Secretary General of the University.

The duties of the Vice-Rectors are appointed by the Rector in accordance with the provisions of the Statute. The Rector has the right to delegate full legal responsibility for a certain time.

The Secretary is the highest executive and administrative officer of the University, with special rights and responsibilities set forth in his contract, which is signed by the Rector.

The Secretary is accountable to the Rector for efficient, economical and effective administration at all levels of the University. In this position, the Secretary General is responsible for all matters that are not the competence of the bodies or other leaders.
