Yesterday in the Albanian Language Department in the Faculty of Philology, in regards to the Master students course Selected Philologists, was invited the academic Anila Omari. In this lecture it was discussed about the study works of Professor Shaban Demiraj, as a scholar of Albanian with remarkable contribution in the Balkanic Linguistics Field, and during this lecture, Leomir Smajli presented a review for the work ‘’Balkanic Linguistics’’.

Professor Shaban Demiraj belongs to the highest constellation of Albanists and Albanologists of all times. His life and work speak of love for the Albanian language, for languages, and even for the Language itself, for passion, patience, and exemplary perseverance on the path of the researcher, of the tireless scientist according to Omar.

Demiraj has been a linguist, Albanologist and well known Albanian academic. He was the Head of the Academy of Sciences of Albania during 1993-1997. The organization of this lecture was done by the holder of the course Selected Philologists Yllka Imeri.
