Discussion with Second Year Students on the Review of the Second-Year Curriculum in the English Language – Translation and Interpreting Program

The heads of the English Language – Translation and Interpreting program, Prof. Ass. Dr. Mejreme Ymeri, Prof.Ass.Dr. Nazli Tyfekci and Prof. Assoc. Dr. Elsa Vula, held a focus group meeting with second-year students regarding the review of the curriculum, as part of the program’s continuous commitment to improving teaching quality and academic development.

During the meeting, students’ experiences, challenges, and suggestions were discussed in relation to course content, teaching methodology, and the organization of academic activities.

Special attention was given to:

  • the development of reading, writing, and academic communication skills;
  • the advancement of translation and interpreting skills;
  • the use of interactive teaching methods;
  • the integration of technology and online materials into the learning process;
  • the organization of practical work and group activities;
  • the connection between theory and professional practice.

Students shared comments and concrete suggestions for enhancing the curriculum, increasing the practical component, and further developing professional competencies in the field of translation and interpreting.

The meeting serves as part of the program’s ongoing commitment to providing a contemporary curriculum aligned with the academic and professional needs of students.
